Homelessness is not rare within the LGBTQ community. In fact, LGBTQ folks are often at elevated risk of becoming homeless due to insufficient family, church, and other support systems. And, once homeless, LGBTQ adults are far more likely to remain homeless. Healthy attention has been directed to youth experiencing homelessness, 40% of whom identify as LGBTQ. Yet, nationwide, programs are virtually nonexistent for LGBTQ individuals older than 24 years of age.

We aim to change this.

Restoring Pride is a newly-formed, national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that will provide transitional housing and other support services for adult members of the LGBTQ community experiencing homelessness and problems with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Our housing programs will be first introduced in DC and Oklahoma City, followed by expansions into other cities throughout the country.
